Suhas Diwase, district collector and district election returning officer, has appealed to citizens to be vigilant and report information that will help the income tax department monitor and curb the misuse of black money in the upcoming general elections. Citizens can register their complaints or report misuse of money by contacting the control room. This cell will be functional for Pune, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Sindhudurg, and Kolhapur districts.
He added, “Transactions above Rs 10,000 by each candidate should be done by cheque or online. Managers of district cooperative banks should keep an eye on this. Every bank in the Lok Sabha constituency is required to submit information on transactions above Rs 10 lakh to the expenditure control committee on a daily basis. For this, district cooperative bank officers are the nodal officers and they are required to send reports daily, even if the reports are incomplete. Also, the daily information about the transactions of the co-operative bank must be sent by the deputy registrar of the co-operative society to the district deputy registrar daily. If laxity is found in this work, action will be taken as per the instructions of the election commission.”

One employee should be provided for each candidate. A daily report should be submitted in this regard. One employee of each department concerned should be available at the border check post in the constituency. The vehicles arriving at the border should be checked thoroughly.
